About a year or two ago, I wanted to start an online business. But I didn’t want it to be any online business. I wanted something that was self-sufficient and that I could run and manage from my laptop or iPhone.

Here are the steps from my journey that you can follow to create a successful online business.

Start With An Idea.

The first thing you need to do is have an idea. You want to get clear about what it is that you want and how you’re going to achieve it. What kind of online business do you plan on running? Do you want it to be more passive, or do you want to be more hands-on with it?

These are all things you need to consider when you’re aiming to build an online business. The more clear you’re able to get, the easier it will be to start building and growing your online business.

For me, it all began when I created my first website using WordPress. From that point on, it became my main focus. Two years in now, my main focus is helping others create, customize, and monetize an online business.

Believe me when I say that if I can do it, so can you. I started with very little knowledge, but I was able to learn along the way. All you really need is an Idea.

Utilize the power of WordPress.

What is WordPress?

WordPress is a powerhouse in the world of website building and management. It started off as a simple blogging platform but has evolved into a comprehensive content management system (CMS) capable of handling a variety of websites, from personal blogs to large e-commerce sites. What makes WordPress exceptionally popular is its flexibility and user-friendliness. You don’t need to be a tech expert to build a professional-looking website.

Why Choose WordPress?

Here are a few reasons why WordPress dominates the website creation space:

  • Ease of Use: WordPress’s intuitive interface makes it easy for beginners to navigate.
  • Customizability: With thousands of themes and plugins, you can tailor your site to look and function exactly how you want.
  • Community Support: Being open-source, it has a vast community of developers and users who constantly contribute to its improvement.
  • SEO-Friendly: WordPress is designed to be SEO-friendly out of the box, helping your site rank better in search results.

Setting Up Your WordPress Website

Embarking on your online business journey starts with establishing your digital storefront: your website. This section is dedicated to guiding you through the initial steps of setting up a WordPress website, with a focus on choosing a domain, selecting a hosting service, installing WordPress, and picking the right theme and tools to bring your vision to life.

Choosing a Domain Name and Hosting Service

Your domain name is more than just a web address; it’s the first impression and brand identity of your online business. When selecting a domain name, consider these key factors:

  • Relevance: Ensure it relates to your business or brand.
  • Simplicity: Easy to remember, spell, and type.
  • SEO-Friendly: Incorporate keywords related to your business.

Next, you’ll need a hosting service – this is where your website ‘lives’ on the internet. Look for a hosting provider that offers reliability, fast loading speeds, good customer support, and WordPress compatibility.

Installing WordPress

Once you have your domain and hosting ready, the next step is installing WordPress. Many hosting providers offer one-click installations for WordPress, making this process straightforward. Ensure that you follow the installation steps correctly to set up your WordPress admin panel, where you’ll manage your site.

Selecting and Installing a WordPress Theme

A theme determines the look and feel of your website. WordPress offers thousands of themes, both free and premium. When choosing a theme, consider:

  • Responsiveness: It should work well on all devices.
  • Customization: Look for themes that are easily customizable.
  • Speed and Performance: A lightweight theme ensures faster loading times.

Building with Elementor Pro

To further customize your site, tools like Elementor Pro are invaluable. Elementor Pro is a powerful WordPress page builder that offers drag-and-drop functionality, making it easy to design your site without needing to know how to code.
